Along with my partner Lisa Collins (you’ll meet her below!), we’re the two most cruise-knowledgeable Lisa’s around.
My specialty? River cruising. I first fell in love with the rhythm of rivers while living in Europe as a (very lucky!) military wife. My husband was stationed in Holland, so I got to meander among the country’s famous canals. Life there revolved around the rivers, with everyone living, dining, and doing business on the water.
The ebbs and flows of river life pulled me in—and soon I was sailing the Seine all the way to Paris, climbing up turreted castles in Germany on a Moselle River cruise, and drifting down the Danube for a heart-wrenching visit to the Mauthausen concentration camp.
As a small town girl from upstate New York, I never thought I’d get to see so much. I had no idea how much this world had to offer, and I could feel my worldview expanding each time I stepped off the ship.
Today, I’d love to share that with you. After more than 35 years in the travel industry, I’ve come to believe that river cruising is simply the very best way to explore.

For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to design travel. Even before I started in the travel industry, I got my hands on everything I could to learn as much as possible about destinations—especially about the oceans. There is just something beautiful that speaks to me every time I feel the ocean breeze on my face. There is a quote that best describes how the ocean beckons my soul by L.M. Borges, “The beauty and the mystery of the ocean, fills our lives with wonder, vast beyond our imagination."
On an ocean cruise, there are so many opportunities to take all that mystery in. The best moments of clarity about life have happened while watching the sun rise and set over the ocean. And even though we are in the middle of the ocean, we are on this amazing floating oasis, surrounded by luxury while being so pampered that you sometimes think you’re dreaming. Then you wake up at your next port of call and remember that this isn’t a dream; it’s paradise. My magic power is bringing you that experience of a lifetime.
